Mormon Belief - The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
81John 10:16 Other Sheep I Have, Which are not of this Fold...
John 3:16 For God So Loved the World...
Christ expressly says, “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice...
Does it not seem reasonable that Christians everywhere should ask the question about these other sheep, of whom the Savior was explicit about revealing?
Should not all Christians wonder about the record of the Resurrected Lord, that most likely would be given, if in fact, He did go to these other sheep that were also of His fold, or covenant.
Who would refuse "these other sheep" - and their sacred record of this anticipated event - although on another continent of this earth. It would most certainly be "another" testament of the truth that Jesus Christ lives and was resurrected! Why would anyone turn away from the testimony that Jesus Christ made clear He was going to go and give, and to "other sheep" not of their fold -- that He had Risen? Should we not consider that this record would eventually come forth and be anticipated with wonder?
Else why would Jesus Christ have made this known and that it be contained in the first Testament of Him -- the Holy Bible, which is the Word of God?
A record that testifies of a sacred visitation that He told would happen... Jesus Christ was going to "see" a people, His other sheep not of their fold It is clearly recorded that His visit to these "other sheep" would be following His death and resurrection! This is just as the Savior, Himself - said that this record would be.
When He appears to these "other sheep" it will be as the Resurrected Lord and Savior of ALL mankind! This record of a visit, to a people, of Jesus Christ as The Resurrected Christ - is the Testament of The Book of Mormon! And this testimony has no rival in the history of the world!
The Book of Mormon is "Another Testament" of Jesus Christ... that he was born, that He died and that He did appear unto a people - following His death and resurrection. A people that were prepared to receive Him. A people unlike those who crucified Him. The story of the Book of Mormon -- the account of the Resurrected Saviors' visit to the Americas' will bring you to tears. If you have mourned Jesus Christ crucified you will be touched to know that God had a people prepared to receive Him!
The account of the Resurrected Lord to the people of the Book of Mormon is what we as Christians hope will be our personal experience when He Comes Again. The Book of Mormon is a record that testifies of Jesus Christ coming to a people who long awaited this great event.
The Book of Mormon, which stands side-by-side with the Holy Bible is to prepare His people now for His Second Coming -- of which all of His sheep will be of one fold.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Good News That HE LIVES!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that the most important event in the history of the world , which affects each and every person who has lived, or will ever live upon the earth was The Resurrection of Jesus Christ!
John 3: 16, 17 Proclaims...
¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Ancient records testify of the birth of Jesus Christ as a babe in Bethlehem, as foretold. The New Testament records His walk among the children of men in mortality. His profound teachings are preserved as the evidence that He came.
His teachings to mankind cannot be matched by any other man, so great are their implications for all who abide them. We doubt not, that this man, named Jesus of Nazareth was born and lived upon the earth -- and also died... which is the sojourn of all people who are born into this world.
Each one of us are born, we live and we will all die! Everyone of us, although we do not remember our birth, and we have not experienced our deaths, as yet, can witness of these actual events on behalf of at least one other person.
That we are alive now, and inevitably know - that we will die - is an absolute truth.
Living prophets today, have said that most likely the beautiful accounts of the birth, life and even the sad tale of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, most likely would have gone by the wayside, in the mind of modern-day man IF not for that one single event, which is recorded in history as the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!
This single event is the miracle of all miracles! The remarkable Resurrection, wherein Jesus Christ, literally on our behalf, broke the bands of not only physical death - but hell also, which is spiritual death - being eternally separated from God. Jesus Christ did overcome through the Atonement and Resurrection!
The tomb that His mortal body, which He submitted to mortal death wherein he was so lovingly placed to rest, was found empty! Jesus Christ gave up His life willingly as the atoning sacrifice to save all mankind and in the sacred tomb where He was buried - after three days, which was the First Easter Sabbath morning -- was found empty!
He is RISEN!
Jesus Christ - What Do Mormons Believe About Him?
The Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ
The Record of His Other Sheep...
The Resurrections Means that Death Is But a Sleep, and that We All Shall Live Again!
The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ, wherein is recorded the miraculous account of the Savior's visitation to a people following his death and resurrection. The Book of Mormon records the history of a people that were led out of Jerusalem approximately 600 years before the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Book of Mormon is a sacred record, which tells of peoples, their dealings and relationships with Jesus Christ and their very personal experiences when the great events of His birth and ultimately His Death and Resurrection came to pass. These records come from where they were in the world at the very same time period of history as those of the biblical record.
The crowning testament and witness of the Book of Mormon is the actual appearance of Jesus Christ, as a Resurrected Being, of which had been prophesied to the people of the Book of Mormon - to occur following or "after" His birth, death and eventual Resurrection in the old world.
Jesus Christ fulfilled His promise when He came to the Nephite people. He went to those "other sheep have I, which are not of this fold". He went to them ,and in the most sacred of all accounts in all of scripture, which is known and preserved, is the testimony of this most intimate experience.
Who WERE His other lost sheep?
Jesus Christ Came - That We Too Might Live Again!
And so the life that He lived here upon the earth, in that He fulfilled the measure or His mission and ministry, literally descending below all things so that He could ascend above all things - was made complete!
That He would be born, live and walk among His people. That He would be a perfect example of obedience unto God the Father, His Father and our Father... in showing perfect submission to the will of the Father in all things, even unto giving up His own life, in His death.
The literal resurrection of Jesus Christ where following his mortal death and burial, He now, today, Lives again -- and in Glory!
Each one of us truly cannot explain just how Jesus Christ was resurrected - that process. The restoration of the dead decaying body that lay in that tomb, which we know as death -was lifted unto life again and reunited with His Eternal Spirit, and now in perfection - to never die or be separated again - throughout all Eternity!
This is the hope of all the world, that we too, after we inevitably die, will be raised up unto immortality and eternal life! Because He Lives, we too, shall live again!
This is the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
The Gospel Of Jesus Christ Is To Prepare Us For When He Comes Again...
Understanding the Record of the Book of Mormon and its Beginnings...
Following His Resurrection, Jesus Christ appeared to a people referred to as the Nephites - this appearance took place in ancient America, as recorded in the Book of Mormon. To the Nephite people the Risen Lord said, "Verily I say unto you, that ye are they of whom I said: "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold and one shepherd" (3 Nephi 15:21).
This is the testimony of the Book of Mormon to all the world, who would wonder and ask the question... who are these other sheep and should we not anticipate that they too would have sacred records that would also witness of Jesus Christ, as a Resurrected and Glorified Personage?
Here is a dramatized production of the Story of the Book of Mormon, the beginning. The account of the Book of Mormon begins, with the record of Nephi, who is the son of Lehi, telling us of the conditions at the time, in Jerusalem. Nephi's father, Lehi -- was called of God, as a prophet, to warn the people of the coming destruction of the great city Jerusalem, if the people did not repent. Ultimately, as history always follows -- people do not listen to men who claim to be prophets of God.
The people of Jerusalem eventually sought for the life of Lehi, and therefore God - in a dream to Lehi - told him to flee with his family into the wilderness...

Ancient Records Stand as Truth that Jesus Christ Lives Today!
This is the witness of all the prophets and apostles of Jesus Christ, as well as the testimony of many others that are recorded in sacred text. The Holy Bible bears witness that the Resurrected Lord, Jesus Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind, was seen of over 500 men and women!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - add to the testimony that He Lives -- in the coming forth of another Testament of Jesus Christ, which is - the Book of Mormon! As members of the LDS faith, we add our witness in the Book of Mormon, and our testimonies - that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind.
Members of the LDS Church throughout the world, testify to the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, as another Testament of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind.

I love the account of the Saviors visit to the Americas that is given in the Book of Mormon. It is truly a beautifully written record of His teachings to the people on the American Continent, after His resurrection. Thank you for this wonderful Easter message.
All good stuff to remember this time of year. I linked your hub to mine entitled "How to teach your children the TRUE meaning of Easter and STILL have fun! check it out

I had not yet spent time this season reading the account in the Bible of the events leading up to and including the resurrection. Thank you for your Hub that helps me to remember what Jesus Christ has done for us. I can feel that you have a sure witness of the reality of the Saviors life and resurrection. I have recently lost my father and feel that as you do that because of Jesus Christ I will see my father again as a resurrected being. I also yearn for the day when I will see the Savior and have perhaps a similar experience than that of the Nephites when he appeared to them anciently.
Very true. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is indeed the single most important event in the history of the world.
It does change until this new millenium era. The history of His birth, teaching, suffering, crucifixion, death and resurrection did really affect of human belief today. Especially in the important religion context. It does also serve good morale among human and on how human practicing love to each other and for the world.
True story - Last year I'm reading "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins and the door bell rings. I answer it with the book in my hands and there are two young Mormons in their suits and clean cut hair dos. Before they can speak I start telling them about the book I'm reading and some of the thought provoking insight Dawkins has, suggest they pick it up at the library and shut the door.
